When the sun is shining (or the wind is blowing right through) there few places that bring a smile to my face in quite the same way as Tyninghame Beach. Otherwise known as Ravensheugh Sands, Tyninghame might not have the drama of Seacliff with its brooding castle or Yellowcraigs with Fidra Lighthouse, but instead, it has a quiet wild charm all of its own – and that is fine with me.

The Riverside Museum in Glasgow was opened in 2011 at Pointhouse Quay in Glasgow Harbour. This spectacular building was designed by the world renowned Zaha Hadid Architects and it makes a dramatic statement in a quayside which is still very much under regeneration.
