Here we, here we, here we… go
Summer in Scotland is always a game of dice (one of the reasons we are having our wedding in winter) and this year’s has been crapper than most (something to do with the jet stream being ‘stuck’ across the SE of England, according to the BBC). We’ve had almost daily flash flooding, monsoon conditions (without the dry season to compensate) and there is more flooding to come. So, what do I plan to do in the middle of this weather?
Well, go to T in the Park of course and have this to deal with. Ok, that is just one of the photos going round twitter and It could be taken anywhere, at anytime (note: (actually its Glastonbury) and as I am not camping, thank god, so I don’t have to worry about my tent floating away (so beyond that). However, I am not looking forward to 12 hours of struggling through mud just to finally see the Stone Roses. Actually, strike that, I can cope with 12 hours of mud just to finally se myfavouritebandinthewholeworldeverTM provided they don’t flipping cancel (another twitter rumour going around this morning). The rain and the mud won’t stop me.
However, this year I’ll be forgetting festival fashion, I am I going highly prepared for the weather, with my trusty blue Hunter wellies (which have carried me through many festivals to date) denim shorts and black tights (they dry much quicker than jeans and i’m not wearing waterproof trousers for love or money) + a couple of spare pairs of tights to change into if I get really cold, and for extra protection my new North Face tri-climate jacket (practical but oh so stylish) with the fleece in my bag for extra comfort come 11pm when i’ve been in the rain all day.
Oh, ok, I’ll maybe also be wearing a stupid hat and my new Primarni schnauzer top (and a wee vest) underneath which wont be seen but ill know its there. I still want to look good even if I am covered in mud and jumping up and down in it like a mentalist. Sadly I wont be able to take my instax mini to take amazing photos like at Rockness last year.. I don’t think it will cope as well as me with the rain!
Wish me luck…maybe I should take some waterwings!

P.s what would you wear to a very wet and muddy festival?

I’m going tomorrow but dreading the mud, too old for this!
I’m going tomorrow as well and yes I am too old for this too :) So couldn’t cope with the whole weekend anymore!
